Cub Scout Pack 131
Warm Welcome Prospective and New Families
We are delighted that you are considering us for your child’s Cub Scouting experience.
A little bit about us, we are sponsored by the Verdugo Woodlands Dads’ Club in Glendale, California.
- We welcome both boys and girls from Kindergarten through Fifth Grade
- Our neighboring school is Verdugo Woodlands Elementary.
- We enroll scouts from any schools/homeschooled.
- Our member families come from all parts of Glendale, Pasadena, Eagle Rock, Mount Washington and beyond.
Pack 131 welcomes all children and families to join scouting. Our Pack promotes a culture of equity and inclusion where each youth, volunteer, and family feels a sense of belonging. We aim to build a pack community where every person feels respected and valued. Our pack welomes LGBTQ+ families, gender and neural diverse children and aim to meet children where they are with the simple scout motto, “Do your best.” Read here the BSA’s statement against racial injustice that states clearly our belief that Black Lives Matter.
Come & explore the adventure of Scouting with Pack 131. When you join pack 131, you’ll be a part of a growing community of families committed to encouraging confidence, friendship, service to our community, fun and adventure. Pack 131 Cub Scout activities include fishing, camping, Pinewood Derby racing, hiking and more.

A Word from Our Leadership
Pack 131 is run entirely by parent volunteers and the success of our program is entirely dependent on the dedication and participation of our scout families. Not only is being a Den Leader, Committee Member or other parent volunteer, lots of fun, it is also an incredibly rewarding experience and a great way to spend some quality time with your child. We meet as a pack (all dens) once a month, and typically have one pack activity a month.
Pack meetings are usually held on the third Monday of the month. Pack activities are usually on the weekends and might be a hike, bike ride, service project, campout or our annual Pinewood Derby.
Den meetings are the core of Cub Scouting and focus on advancement of our cub scouts earning merit badges and pins in a fun & secure environment. Each den makes their own schedule, but usually, have at least one den meeting and one “go-see-it” a month. Den meetings consist of games, service projects and activities that help fulfill badge requirements.
